If your MySQL database for WordPress is encoded with UTF-8, and you would like WPGet’s output to also utilise this character set, you can add the following line to the WPGet script:

mysql_query('SET NAMES utf8');

This must be placed right after the line:

WPGet is a script that is designed to allow you to include a short summary of your recent blog posts on your website. Specifically, it works with WordPress and is great for integrating a WordPress blog into a site that isn’t completely powered by the WP platform.

I think I’ve finally found a solution to this annoying error message that Windows gives when you use DfontSplitter to convert some fonts and then try and use those converted fonts in Windows.

It involves using a third-party open source application called FontForge to convert the TTFs that DfontSplitter gives you from a Mac-specific TTF format into ‘regular’ TTF format.

DfontSplitter on Mac OS X is built around the command line tool Fondu.

As such, Fondu sometimes has issues splitting certain fonts and can sometimes produce TTFs which will not be recognised when moved over to a Microsoft Windows system.

At the moment, I am not aware of a specific fix to tweak the TTFs so that Windows can read them, other than to use a commercial package (which somewhat defeats the object of DfontSplitter). Please see this comment on my blog for more details.

DfontSplitter is simply a graphical wrapper program for fondu, which is the program that actually extracts and converts .dfont files.

Due to the way DfontSplitter on Mac OS X is built, any errors reported by fondu will be displayed in a dialogue box. However, if you are having errors that are not being reported in this way, or simply want to use the command line program anyway, the following process is how.

SleekTabs is a bit of software written in PHP that allows you to make tabbed web pages really easily. With just a small snippet of code, you can have tabs anywhere on your page. When a user clicks a tab, some new information gets loaded into the page, without them having to endure a full reload.

DfontSplitter is simply a graphical wrapper program for fondu, which is the program that actually extracts and converts .dfont files.

If there is a problem extracting, you may see a command prompt window open with fondu's output, or you may get no useful results at all.
