Trying out Google Reader

As part of my feed reader quest, I’m trying out Google’s Reader, which is a bit more fully featured than Personalised Home. I’m going to use it for a few days and then post a review at Gizbuzz about my thoughts.

In the meantime, you can see which feed items I’ve found interesting below:

(Apologies to anyone who came to an old, broken version of this post via the feed – I messed up the publish somehow and had to pull the old post and rewrite it)

I tried GReader and found it to be a tad to slow and laggy for my tastes.

And (sorry Dave Winer) River of News annoyed me.

Sage for Firefox is my friend right now. It’s frustrating that it isn’t synched to a server but it has an interface I love. Can’t beat that!

GReader doesn’t lag that much on my machine (then again I’m not exactly running entry-level hardware here).

I tried out Sage, but the lack of sync support puts me right off – I use multiple operating systems, obviously, and I’d need sync between those FF installations or it’d be really irritating.

I’m quite happy with Google Reader actually, and watch out for the review in the next few days.
