Leopard is here

So Leopard is here and it is very very nice. I haven’t had an awful lot of time to actually sit down and just play – it’s mostly copying stuff from my backup over, getting things running smoothly again. I will report back with thoughts later!

As you can see, Spotlight is furiously re-indexing all the stuff I just copied, so it is pegging my CPU (usually just one of the cores though, so it’s still snappy and responsive) and making it very very hot (see the menubar for the CPU core temperature)!

More Leopard stuff soon.

79 degrees! Am I reading that right? Always good for multi-tasking I suppose, MacBook = Alternate fuel for hot water? Maybe it’ll catch on some day.

You are reading that correctly. MacBooks run hot – and apparently mine isn’t even particularly hotter than any others when under full load.

Don’t ask me, ask Apple. 🙂

I’ve just looked at the temperature of my (old and almost deceased) laptop for the first time in it’s 4 year life, 76 degrees, so I guess 79 maybe isn’t that bad! Although the CPU cooler doesn’t seem to be running, maybe it’s feeling suicidal after I tried ubuntu on it 😛
